Only through a will can you appoint a guardian for minor children and name the executor who will administer your estate. A carefully drafted will gives your family instructions instead of leaving those decisions to Georgia law.
A will can direct how assets should be distributed and establish a testamentary trust to manage a child’s inheritance until an age you choose. It can also coordinate with beneficiary designations and the rest of your estate plan.
If your will was prepared years ago, Mackintosh Law can review it after a marriage, divorce, birth, move, major purchase, or other life change to make sure it still reflects your intentions.
Without a valid will, a court applies Georgia’s intestacy rules and may appoint people you would not have chosen.
